My name is Alison. I do enjoy my patchwork. Love rummaging in thrift type shops. Love it better still when I find something vintage that I like. The shop is starting to become home to a few of these pieces.

Beautiful Baby Prints

How busy is busy??
Sometimes it doesn't matter how early one starts to try and play catch up it makes no difference. Not to mention that Sunday is the 1st April....already.
Not allowed to mention the "C" (chenille) word for a while.
I have been working on some baby blankie kits which are coming along just nice. I also realised just how many pretty baby/young child fabrics there are around to choose from when you want to make something for your child.
If you are looking for some prettey pretty baby prints then we have the above ones in stock. So cute.

Beautiful chenille colours

How lovely the colours in these kits look. One is going to Alison in Singleton one is going to Libby in Moree and the other to Julie in Tasmania.
Libby and Julie are so far away from the shop it's nice to give them a preview. Please note that if you order kit #1 or kit #2 there is a three week approx waiting list.

Liz looking!!

In the Lovebirds workshop Liz is looking for something.
There are some photos you shouldn't publish but there are also some photos that you just cannot resist doing just that!!

Of course Liz will have words with me..........nice ones of course.

Cheesecake and Love Birds

Monica and her quilt under discussion
Monica showing a few of her other patterns. It is always great to see a quilt in "real life"

Everyone paying attention. Where are the the other half of the class!

They went to eat cake!...... Cheesecake.

What a wonderful bunch of girls in the Lovebirds workshop today. Thank you Monica for teaching a great class. Layback - no stress -some great homemade pate by Liz and of course yummy cheescake. What more can you ask for.

Took some great photos but my camera and I still don't agree on all pictures!! But have enough to show how the day went.

Fancy fancy chenille quilt

I have had quite a few phone calls this afternoon about the advert that is in the current Patchwork and Quilting magazine. There is kit 1 and kit 2.
Kit 1 which is pictured in the advert is 81 blocks x 6 1/2 inchs. At least 50 are fancy pieces plus plain pieces.
Kit 2 is the above kit. It has 110 blocks x 6 1/2 inchs. All the blocks in kit 2 are fancy pieces.
Please remember that this is vintage chenille and I cannot guarantee the exact pattern as in the pictures.
I hope this helps those customers who have made enquiries at Rags to Riches.

Mother Goose Version 2

This is another colour way of Mother Goose. No one around to hold the quilt up for me so had to improvise. Love my Humpty Dumpty. Nothing like red spots to be noticed!

Mother Goose

This great kids pattern was a BOM for us in 2007 and was very popular as a kids quilt. Bronwyn has taken this pattern and made it using her own fabric selection. It has turned out a really beautiful children's quilt. The pattern set is available from Rags to Riches.

Lets be honest!!

Of course such a question always makes me take a back step. After all who really wants to be that honest and that is even before the question is asked.

So really truely tell me ......how many of you patchworkers out there put a label on your quilt when you have finished sewing it??

As I am asking the question I will not have to answer. Enough to say that if you visit work and inspect my quilts you will find I am a very bad example to follow.

This is a case of do as I say not as I do!

The subject of labels on quilts is very well covered here. Check it out as there is a really good idea as to what you can use as a label. No I'm not going to tell you what it is but what a great idea.

It really is important to leave this information with your quilt even if it is only for family members.

Hope you enjoy the information.
